Just looking for some advice on the best way to go about something.

I booked and paid for a batch of 5 lessons in the spring and have taken 2 so far. I have for the last month phoned and left messages with the pro to arrange my next lesson. He has not returned any of my 3 phone calls.

Am I within my rights to just ask for the remainder of my money back and go somewhere else for my lessons.

Do I just call to pro shop and speak to him or send him a letter asking for a refund. Can I get a refund for this?

I feel I have given him enough chances to contact me and am not sure I want anymore lessons from this guy now but on the other hand I dont want to lose my money.

Is this pro attached to a club? If so why not contact them to see if there is a problem. If he isn't answering his phone there might be other issues such as illness etc.
Have you been to the range/course to see if there is a problem? If not then I would do so.
Normally after a lesson I book the next one whilst I'm there so I don't need to phone.
If you don't get satisfaction then contact the PGA who are the governing body for Pros.

Is the pro attached to a club? If so I'd write to the club or speak to the club manager and explain the situation and that you just want the rest of your money back.

Can I ask if you have seen the pro at the club since, teaching anyone else??
Maybe he has had a family bereavement or something else like he's been seriously ill.
Just double check with the club itself before exploding onto the club for money back.

If you've paid and he hasn't delivered then you're entitled to a refund. Problem is he may have done a runner or just moved on - could be hard to track down. I'd get onto it sooner rather than later.

To claim any sort of refund you normally have to prove that you've given the guy a chance to sort it out.

To do it properly you need to write to him ( email should be fine ) offering him 14 days to sort it out, or you will consider the contract void and be looking for a refund.

What I don't get, though, is why you've only tried ringing him, you haven't been round to see him face to face.

:D

I will find out this weekend if there is a problem such as illness etc but if there was surely there should be someone covering for him.

I am not the sort of person who will kick off but I think in his line of business he should have at least the courtesy to phone back and if he cant have someone else who can. Maybe my swing is that bad he cant look at it anymore.... :o

These lesson are not at my normal course so I dont see him around. But I dont think he has done a runner. There may be a good explantion as why he hasnt called back but I have left my number for him. Even if he was on holiday I think he should leave a message stating so.

As for not calling to see him face to face I feel a phone call is enough as its a with a club a few miles away and I dont want to run the roads looking for him.

I have worked in sales for a number of years and returning customer calls, in my opinion, is of the upmost importance.

I would be tempted to just drop it, especially if this guy is ignoring you. You really are better getting a pro that is well respected, word of mouth, known to your mates…that sort of thing. Oh, if you find out he has been ingnoring you, name and shame.

He was recommended to me and was used by some people I know and respected.

He probally has his reasons/excuses so I will wait and see how it pans out now.

I rang my pro at 2pm to see if he could fit me in yesterday, he didn't answer (probably teaching ) he rang back 20 mins later and gave me an hour lesson at 3.30pm which was the only free time he had in the day. This is better service than I have a right to expect but does make for a great rapport with your pro - great lesson by the way!

I agree that people should always return calls but I think, these days that it happens so much less frequently despite the fact that the younger generation have their phones constantly in their hands.
