In all the years I've played golf I've never understood the distinction between right and left-handed players.
I'm a ''right hander'' but I wear my glove on my left hand and all the fingers of my left hand have contact with the grip. Only four of the fingers of my right hand touch the grip. When I address the ball I stand with both feet to the left of the line of flight and I hit the ball to my left.
Years ago I remember left-handed people who took up golf and found it difficult to buy ''left-handed'' equipment so they played the game ''right-handed''.
I've just read that Mickelson does everything with his right hand except play golf. This week I saw a photo of Rafa Nadal in the local press. What do you know? On the tennis court he's left handed (he holds the racquet in his left hand) but on the golf course he's ''right-handed''.
I'd be interested in the comments of any ''lefties'' or ''righties''.

I believe that the reason Mickelson is left handed is because he used to stand opposite his father and copy his swing like a mirror image. When I used to go and play snooker with a mate of mine he used to play left handed, but when he used the rest, he held his cue in his right hand and in the bar afterwards, he played darts right handed.. :D Go figure..

I write left handed, throw left handed, play tennis left handed, snooker left handed bu if with a rest Im right. Im right footed at football, right handed at golf / cricket.
And crap at them all !!!!!

Perhaps I should swap.....

ANDYTROW – I’m one of those weird Left for some things, right for others people too. Welcome to the club :D

I bowl left handed but bat right handed at cricket, i’m left handed for tennis, snooker & writing. Yet I throw a frisbee with my right hand and play golf right handed. I kick a ball with my right foot too.

All in all I think I’m a bit confused :D

Apparently left handed people are supposed to be more intelligent too, however this doesn’t appear to apply in my case.

DHM.

Thanks for the replies, gents. Very interesting but I'm even more confused than before. I started with the idea that golf and batting had nothing to do with which of your two sides was stronger.
Now I hear that ANDYTROW plays tennis with his left hand but kicks a ball with his right foot. DHM bowls left handed but would take a corner with his right foot!!!
Maybe if there are any neurologists reading this they could throw some light on it. Also, Beckham might consider taking penalties with his left foot in his new career (if they let him take any).

I play shots right handed and putt left handed, feel it slows things down and relaxes my putting stroke.
