Lee W

I really don't think yesterdays slip up made any difference....Westwood played unbelievable golf over the weekend,he even said probably the best he's ever played, the guy hasn't missed a shot!

Still think Rory is player of the year, his consistancy has been incredible not just in Europe and if his putting was that wee bit sharper he would be out of sight.

Great interview with Westwood.....'how will you celebrate this lee??'....'oh I think I'll manage to fit in a couple!!!!!'....superb!! :D

Mcilroy is so frustrating to watch and support hits it to 10 feet all day and finishes four under! If he putter like tiger he would be world number one in my opinion.

Led from start to finish, Drove off last on day one and holed the last putt on final day. Great guy, it was great watching it. I'd of like to see Ross Mc get even closer but he got 2nd. A great bunch of guys on European tour right now. Shame a few have chosen to go to the states,
Roll on next season.

Westwood proved that there is NO problem with Ping!!!!!!!

Awesome shooting today, I just caught the tail end of his golf today when I got home from the practice area.

well done lee and you have to feel for rory he let it go yesterday afternoon
just shows that the european tour is strong
sorry to see one or two players going to the usa for next year

I agree Mr Westwood played amazing golf today, but do you really think he can't play as well with other branded clubs?????????? As we all say at one point or another it's not the club it's the idiot on the end that makes the difference.

Is it just me or is Rory starting to show some Tiger like petulence?
Hitting the ad boarding with his club, throwing his ball when it was him that ballsed up the shot.

Come on son, get a grip

I have to say I have had a bit of a soft spot for Lee, he has been one of my fave golfers for some time, however whilst watching him on sat heading towards the scorers tent I watched as he walked straight past one of the volunteers who held out something (cap/ball) for him to sign. He walked on without even looking at the person. He needs to take a leaf out of Phil Mickelsons book, a couple of seconds to make someones day surely cannot be asking too much. Glad he won though all the same.

I'm glad Westwood won. Top class golfer and someone who has been kind enough in the past to support a couple of charity auctions I ran with signed shirts. I think Rory was a little petulant today but unlike Tiger who's bee around long enough, I think it was combination of youth, relative inexperience at such a high level (lets not forget he's only been on tour five minutes and achieved so much) and disappointment at getting so close and seeing it disappear.

I think Rory will shine next year big time and hope that Lee can build on this years consistancy and finally take the step up to the next level

Vig, I was going to post something similar, as today showed another side of Rory.

I know it must be frustrating coming so close, however, his advisors (and caddy) should look to manage his temper

This wasn't the first "ball-throwing" incident i've seen him involved in, though hopefully it will be the last

Crashing his club through the advertising board was pure childish petulance - perhaps showing his true age.

Was really pleased for Westwood, it was an imaculate round, and also praise must go to Ross McGowan who is yet another British golfer destined for better things.

I'm well pleased for Lee Westwood. Rory's time will come and for all the downs in Lee's career, this is certainly an up.
Not to mention the £3,000,000 quid he's amassed this year.

Well done Lee.

Here's something from the tour website.

"I'm a bit speechless really," he said after compiling an incredible 23 under par total over the second longest lay-out ever in European Tour history.

"In all fairness I think that's about as good as I've ever played under this pressure.

"It's definitely the biggest moment of my golfing life to date. I knew that before I set out and it gives me a lot of confidence that I was able to hold myself together - until now."

With that the World Number Four's eyes welled up with the emotion of it all.

What a story. No.4 in the world, down to 200-300, back to no. 4

:) :) :) :) :) :) :)

I assume theres some talking points about day 4 today i have it recorded on sky and im gonna chill now for the night and watch it all as soon as the smallies are in bed.

Correct me if im wrong but has Macilroys attitude changed over the past few months?
I see a 19yr old now that people were admiring for his grown up mature attitude on the course and on camera but lately to me he seems to have become slightly arrogant and cocky.
I know there's a fine line between this and confidence but is young macilroy starting to outgrow his boots?
I hope not..
Now im not denying that he's a bad person or anything were all human but he has alot of growing up to do still and he was thought a lesson over this weekend by a golfer who i think has become stronger as the season went on.
Im a big fan of Westwood.
He has a similar attitude to harrington he rarely looses his cool he's always smiling even when things are not going right for him and when interviewed he calls it as he sees it.
I admire him for that and im delighted that his hard graft has paid off for himself and 1 of the people that are often overlooked is the caddy..Billy....
Good on ye lads it couldnt have came about for a more gentlemanly pair........

Christ here we go!!!

He is 20 year old for christ sake,if he wants to lose the head and *** his clubs or have the odd expletive let him get on with it....jesus I can't believe folk get so het up about guys showing a bit of anger!i would hate half the folk on here to play with Screwback.....they'd be walking off after 3 holes! :D

I dont know if your reply was to my post or just in general but if it was to my post then i think you should read it again.... I have no problem with a fellow loosing his temper thats up to him everyone does so at some stage some more than others....

Its his attitude that i think seems to have changed.

I agree I think Rory has changed as well. He seems to be letting it go to his head a bit. His general attitude seems to be a lot more cocky. He reminds me a bit of Garcia with how he plays tee to green fantastic but an iffy putter.

I'm glad Lee won as well. I have met him numerous times and he is always very approachable. I have found that when a player is walking off after finishing a round to go to the scorers tent is when you stand the least chance of getting anything from them based on the experiences I have had at Tournaments. I am a fan of Mickleson but I have tried numerous times to get him to sign Autographs and he never has shown any willingness to oblige I thinks it's how their mood is on the day
