Really ?!?
Even if they are password- and possibly GPS-protected ?
Unbelievable … !

Yup. Someone would steal it just for the sake of it, maybe just to smash it.Really ?!?

If it makes you happy, then fine. Why should it ?
The clippings Robby cuts off are so small that you can’t even see them, and they also serve as fertilizer for the lawn.
It’s a completely different approach: Instead of mowing once or twice a week, Robby works every day. This keeps the grass short from the start, rather than cutting long grass short. There’s no need for a bag to collect the clippings!![]()
I saw a presentation from Husqvana(?) on robot mowers for golf courses and these did stripes, you could choose between various patterns. Over time I think they will become better, cheaper and more efficient (than today’s methods) and I’d be surprised if they wouldn’t be used widely at most courses. If it makes you happy, then fine.
Personally, I dont see how constant grass cuttting chipings will break down quick enough to not block the soil and encourage moss if topped up every day and also unless it can do stripes it's out straight away![]()
I'm quite sure there are high end commercial robotic mowers, but we all due respect, having paid for a commercial grade rotary mower I don't intend to spend probably 5 times that just to be able to sit and watch it mow beer in handI saw a presentation from Husqvana(?) on robot mowers for golf courses and these did stripes, you could choose between various patterns. My MiL’s old lawn was 400m2. It used to take me about half an hour with a self-propelled Honda mower. 40 minutes if I strimmed the edges. My old house had a 400m2 lawn that took me two hours to cut and I couldn't fit all the cuttings into the bin. If I was still there, I would get a robot mower and let it do all that work for me.
Have you used it on a lawn yet ?If anyone else buys the Hyundai lawnmower, go to Jimmy the Mower on Youtube for how to assemble. If it is fairly simple until you get to the cable part. The instructions don't help, the Hyundai assembly video doesn't help, Jimmy is the man. It's really simple once you see how it's done.
Not yet, the grass has been too wet. It hasn't been cut so far this year so it's still quite thick. I'm not waiting for it to be bone dry but I need it drier than it currently is. Even having it set high. Hopefully by the middle of the week but that won't help you.Have you used it on a lawn yet ?
I can get a Hyundai through Tesco at a super friendly price but the deal ends 1st April
Gone for the black edition 17'' with electric start for £237, and I get 12% cashback + can use clubcard points as well as getting the points..Not yet, the grass has been too wet. It feels pretty solid, so I'm happy so far. I think Jimmy the Mower shows him using it. Perhaps worth watching.
These things can be a rabbit hole. If the price is good, I'd go for it. Hyundai seem to have a good name in mowers and the machines have 3 year guarantees so that is pretty good.
This was sold out so we've ordered a £150 McGregor one. Two 18v rechargeable batteries, 34cm cutting width. Three heights I think. Should be fine!We have quite a small lawn and no shed for storage (so will have to keep it in the conservatory). With that in mind I'm thinking of going for one of these:
Mines arriving tomorrowUsed the new mower for the first time today. Simple to start, not too noisy when running. It's self propelled but it doesn't run away. It would be good on a medium sized lawn, very manageable.
Today was a bit of a slog because the area I'm cutting is large and it's the first cut of the year. I did 2/3 today, I'll finish it tomorrow. Next cut should be easier as I'll be starting from a better position.
Remember to watch Jimmy for the assemblyMines arriving tomorrow![]()
Think that I have ordered the same one as Taz. Still waiting dely date but thanks for the link to the cables. Should help the other half set it uoRemember to watch Jimmy for the assembly.
The only tricky bit I found was the cables. Once I realised you could unhook the pull handles that becomes simple as well.
