last nights golf was ace...

teed off around 7.30 last night with my brother. he played 9 holes. I played those and then another 3 after he left.

After 12 holes, i was only 5 over gross probably the best i've struck the ball this season and the weather was great. It was warm, no wind and the views were amazing. It was just a great great night to play golf and one that i'll remember for a long while.

Anyone else have one of those nights last night?

Did something a bit different last night, normally i play 2 or 3 balls each hole but last night I just had one in play.

Every shot I had to say exactly what I was trying to play - "Easy 8i at the last fir and let the wind blow it left" almost like a pre shot discussion with a caddy. Give the round a bit more focus than I usually do if i'm out on my own.
Finished every hole properly, flag out when putting etc. Shot level par 70 in pretty windy conditions, hope my playing partners will understand when I'm having a conversation with myself during my next comp round!

Last nights golf was not only ace.......for me it was bloody expensive.

Played my course last night for only the second time this year. 12 holes all alone on a balmy summers evening. Lovely! Hitting the ball as well as I ever did (couldn't buy a decent putt though)

.....but when you add the 14 holes I played a couple of weeks ago then this years green fees are currently working out at about £22 a hole.

I really need to get out more.

Played last evening:
5 over for 13 holes.
2 double bogeys, 2 bogeys & 1 birdie.
Gave myself 5 other good bidie chances but didn't take them.

I struck my irons beautifully - put a 9 iron to 2 feet for a 2nd ball eagle (unfortunately I'd lost my first teeshot).

Couldnt get out last nite due to:
a)the boss got the hump as i left work early on Monday and that it was actually the 5th time (didnt realise anyone was counting!!)in two weeks ive left early, plus i took Friday off for a charity day.
b)HID also giving it the big-un about how much im spending up the course.

So i tried a Jedi-mind trick on her by moping about indoors hoping she would say 'just go' but it never happened.

Got a quick 8 holes in last night and was 1 under. Went out today for a knock this morning with a couple of mates and shot 1 over.

Won a match last night on the last. Played steady stuff and holed a couple of good long putts when it mattered. Through to the semi-final.
Company was good.
There was no wind and the sun was out.

Good times indeed.

Course is closed today due to the rain over night so no midweek comp.

Played 18 last night. Started off pretty well but had a mare of a back nine. Definitely a tale of two halves (and 3 lost balls on the back nine )
