last comp of the year for me

Just got back from the game this morning and I have to say it is the last comp I'm playing in this year.The so called temp greens were a disgrace, they have had them marked out for week and weeks and after two days light play on them they look like the Somme.I will just go for a game from now on,can't see the point of wasting money to play comps that are a lottery.Anyone else thinking the same?

Join a club that only use temp greens when they're actually needed! My club (Leeds golf club) only put temps on when its frosty of the course is sodden.

My club are the same and only use temps as a last resort for weekend play (Friday-Sunday) but over the winter put two greens a week onto temps to give them a rest which I think is a sound policy. They try and do one per nine so its not the end of the world.

Once temp greens go in we tend to head down to ayrshire or through to North Berwick area,usually get a course there that is still playing to the greens.
