My aged Bushnell V2 is biting the dust...slowly but surely
There's water marks on the internals, it takes a while tk lock on to target sometimes and now the battery cap is falling apart....
Time for a new one but I'm loathed to tork out the sort of cash Bushnell want for their all singing all dancing newbies...
I just need a distance....to be honest the fewer bells and whistles the better....
I've seen the Shotscope Pro L2 and that seems decent enough, decent reviews all round and a decent price..
Anyone got one?
Any other recommendations bearing in kind I'm a cheapskate...😆

May I suggest trying this out

Deal: MiLESEEY Golf Range Finder with Slope On/Off,660Yards,±0.5yard Accuracy,Flag Lock with Vibration,6X Magnification,Scan Measurement for Golfers https://amzn.eu/d/79hvmvY

It's Amazon to order from so if you don't think it's any good just send it back but they are getting outstanding reviews

Buyers guide has them second!! Above so many big names

For £60 you really can't lose

I just picked one up myself (slightly different model)

You get usb rechargeable, a carry case, slope can be turned on and off so it's tournament safe. And it's also magnetic so sticks to carts etc if needed

Worth a look

I have a Nikon unit. Must be about 8 years old, it is excellent. Battery lasts about a year.

I hear Boblov are good value.

I would avoid any that you need to charge up.

Out of interest how come? I used to have one with a battery which I always carried a spare. The new one has a built in a battery that is rechargeable and replaceable by the sounds. Seems reasonable. Easy usb c charge and says lasts like 70 rounds between charges

70 rounds, that makes a big difference. I imagined (wrongly I now see) that they would need charging far to often like everything else in life.

They seem very low usage ie only on to zap a flag then it's off again

For me even every 10 rounds would be acceptable as it's usb c.

The gold buddy is just over £100

Red Tiger is ok , it’s good enough but does feel cheap

The Mileseeys are good as well

Good to hear. I saw it on a YouTube video (unrelated, just a course review) anyways found one on eBay for £60 (ofc now brand new is £60, always way) however it's in great condition and seems a real bargain for the price

How do Bushnell justify their price now you have decent brand like shot scope (who are reputable) and the cheap brands.. is it like a Scotty? Just paying for the name?

My mate has one and was claiming today tour pros use for the reason... I just pointed out they prob are given them for free that's why

I've got the shot scope which I only use on an occasional basis as I use my watch for most distance measurements but when I do use it, it works very well and quickly.

As with anything it’s built a bit more solid , is lighter and has a number of more gadgets etc

100 quid is a bargin for these. They are 189 on nordica golf who always stock them.

I've had mine for years. Bought it after using a mates. About 4 others ending up buying them too.

Solid quality build. Out performs the bushnell lasers in foggy conditions.

Can't go wrong.

I have the Bushnell Tour V6 shift and since buying, the likes of Millsey have brought great rangefinders to the market at a fraction of the cost. I can see much competition in the future.

Whichever one I'd buy again would have to have a battery, as opposed to a USB charger.
