Laptop help

Help needed to speed up my Samsung laptop. Has been working fine but when I go to connect to Internet it takes ages to load each page ie 1 or 2 mins per page. I have BT fibre optic and that's running fine as my ipad and iphones load up in seconds so can't be connection. The laptop had norton protection on it til about a 2 months ago.but has now expired. I have a good signal showing on laptop and have done a defrag but still very slow. Any suggestion please

Uninstall norton, install avg free or avast antivirus.
Download and run ccleaner
Failing that, download google chrome and try it as your browser and see if it helps. If it does then internet explorer could well have issues or maybe one of the plugins running on it.

What are your laptop specs i.e. RAM, CPU speed etc.

What browser do you use?

+1 for AVG virus protection.

Is it just the internet that is slow, or the lappy generally

Test... How long does it take to open a word doc
0-5 seconds good
5-10 seconds average
10 seconds plus - slow

General rule of thumb test I do, many people say the Pc is slow, when it is actually just the internet

Thanks for the info. The laptop is back working fine must of been a bt problem as turned it on today to try some stuff and back working just as fast.
