I'm just looking for some advice from people that have played this course really. I'm just in the process of booking a family holiday in County Clare (ballyvaughan to be exact). A couple of us are looking to play some golf whilst we are there as well. Lahinch looks like a good bet, but I have had mixed reviews. Are there any other courses within half an hour that would be worth a visit?
Thanks in advance
Danny

Ps. It will be Easter when we come over.

Hi Bluewolf.....
Im only 50 mins from lahinch and the same again from Doonbeg....
I know a lot that have played both but i havent played them myself....

Both would be worth the money if for nothing else only to say you experienced them....
It can be tough at times to get tee times in Lahinch..There are 2 courses here...
The Old course which is the main one and the tougher of the 2..
And the castle course which is easier a lot flatter and a good deal cheaper per round....
Both are true links courses and are tough at the best of times but thats half the challange i suppose....

If you are staying in BallyVaughan there are a few decent parkland courses within a 45-1hr mile radius....
Our own Course is Eastclare Golf Club in Bodyke..... http://eastclare.com/
You also have Shannon Golf Club http://www.shannongolfclub.ie/
Ennis is another nice course http://www.ennisgolfclub.com/

This is a great deal also......http://http://www.golf.discoverireland.ie/Golf-Passes/Golf-Passes-Details.aspx?tid=84612

Hope this helps....
