Kobe Bryant - helicopter crash

Daft flying a helicopter in poor visibility. Not the best form of travel in those circumstances. No fog lights for starters.

As an ex helicopter driver, I would much prefer to be in a helicopter than a fixed wing flying low level in poor visibility. That said, I would rather have both feet on the ground in those circumstances.

Watching it on the BBC news last night, at the end of the news they apologised for showing pictures of Le Bron James. Bloody idiots.

Sky sports disgusted me this morning showing a tweet of tiger being told by his caddie about the crash (they were friends etc) do we really need to see that? Fair enough his interview might be interesting but why do we need to see the news broken to him? Bit of respect

Seriously ? Do you just post something knowing that it’s not the right time or place for such a comment ?!
People’s views on him should be tempered by the bad things he has done. His alleged victims certainly won’t mourn his passing. Don’t be so selective in your views on someone; their death doesn’t wrong the rights.

I'm absolutely crushed . To find out his daughter Gianna had also passed just made it even worse.

I pray for his wife Vanessa and daughters during this horrific time. #RIPMAMBA

Not much of a rape case when the accuser refused to testify. Gold-digger springs to mind. He admitted adultery, his wife forgave him.....end of!
So no, his legacy is NOT tarnished at all......:censored:

I haven't been to a pro basketball game since Bill Russell retired from the Celtics in 1968, so I never saw this Bryant lad play.
Based on the news coverage, though, he must have been a really big deal.

Tough break for the family for sure. Families, actually. Nine people perished in the accident. Very sad.
Helicopters are supposed to be safe but they don't look it to me.

Before I had ever set foot in a commercial airliner as a little boy, my grandfather took me for a blimp ride.
That seemed pretty safe.

Someone has just lost their daughter , husband , sister and father and your first thought to post about an “accusation” in regards the person who has passed away - you show your clear lack of class on a daily basis

Thankfully I don’t consider you to be the arbiter of such things and I’ll continue to come to my own opinion on celebrities and especially when there are huge clouds over their legacy. I guess some people are more easily impressed by celebrity status than I am.

Absolutely - the only feelings at the moment should be of compassion for those who have suffered the terrible loss - not finger pointing at any who have died. Fact of 'celebrity' is also surely irrelevant.

Im kinda on the fence here....

Whilst I agree that there is a time and place. I don’t think death absolves someone of sin.

Best probably to have simply not commented either way.
And let people eulogise unreservedly over someone with such a massive stain against his name?

Nope. It’s his celebrity status that gets him that free pass for someone people. If it was a random guy off the street, they’d be held to different standards. Celebrity culture is poison and should be challenged.

This thread was blatantly one for condolences. So yes. Let people eulogise.

If you wanna slag him off, which for the record I don’t think is unfair. Find the right place to do it.
