Going in tomorrow for keyhole surgery on my left knee, just as the course is starting to look superb

Very long standing problems with my knee after a rugby injury when I was 18, and its gradually becoming more problematic, so keyhole surgery to flush it out and fully assess the ongoing prognosis, but its taken from November till now to get to see the right man for the job, a guy in Leeds called Stuart Calder.

To see the course as it was today, and knowing i probably wont be able to play for a few weeks is a mite frustrating

Looks like I'll just have to get on with the chipping and putting practise !!

I know I know......I got in to see a local surgeon in January, who I wasnt impressed with, and then used the NHS 'Choose & Book' system to seek out this guy in Leeds who is reputedly one of the best Knee guys in Europe, if not THE best.
Hence why its taken till now. He didnt hesitate to reccomend keyhole surgery to hopefully make it more comfortable and get some more life out of it.

And, most importantly, as he's offered to do this under NHS, I cant mess him around and delay it. 3/4 weeks should see me fully fit again.......hopefully.

I know knee ops - I've had 3 on the right one. All keyhole, all clearing out torn or detached cartlidge and any other rubbish.
Don't want to put a downer on anything but my first one took nearly 6 weeks before I was back but the other 2 only 3. Maybe that the 1st was a bigger job.......

Good luck.

Best of Luck Chris, Hope you have a speedy recovery pal.

Plenty of short game and putting will keep you entertained.

Whatever you do Chris, don't rush back. Whatever Stuart tells you to do after, do it! Even if it hurts! 3-4 weeks seems a littl optimistic to me. Get your short game practice in once you can get up and about and keep it at that before you go back to full swings.

Aside from that, you're in excellent hands so I'm sure you'll be well before you know it. No more sore knee when you line up that putt!

Best of luck mate.

Im having exactly the same done in early august at present.

I have a load of cartilidge floating about in my knee from where it was hyper-extended backwards playing football.

Doc reckons a 2 week lay-off for mine at best, 6 at worst.
