Keyboard issues

Think my lap top keyboard has died.

Any of the techies on here got any idea what's happened? It just types gibberish. Even more so than usual.

My Dell laptop sometimes does this. I can't remember how to reset it, but it was a combination on powering down, remove battery, replace battery whilst pressing…

I know there are instructions on the web if you google it.

Thanks Hapless. I've just googled it, and it is definitely something to do with a function key I have pressed by mistake. I will have a look when I get home. May be the beast isn't dead afterall.

Just to annoy the f*ck out of people. It certainly serves it's purpose

Someone somewhere thought it would be a great idea removing the numeric pad and adding extra characters to most of the keys.
If I had my way I would have designed it so the num lock key actually illuminated the keys with numbers, would make using them easier as you weren't being hampered looking for the number on the letter key.

I bet you've got at least one. Probably up to 10 in your house already without even knowing it.

You can usually tell if it's one of mine, it'll be the one that doesn't work.

That number lock key is not exactly well labelled. The idiot symbol on it is incomprehensible, and I assumed I wouldn't have a number lock as I don't have a number key pad.
