Justin Rose wins Order of Merit. Insert 'Rose Blooms' joke here.

Well done Justin for clinching the Order of Merit by winning the Volvo Masters yesterday. It looked a bit dodgy at one point when he dropped four shots in three holes but he came through when it mattered.

It just goes to show that perseverance pays off. Who would have thought Justin would be the number 1 golfer in Europe and number 7 in the world when he was busy missing 21 cuts in a row just after turning professional??

What's particularly gratifying from Rose's point of view is that he claimed the number one spot despite playing in only 12 European events. That, and Ernie missed the cut in Singapore.

'Rose wilts' might have been more apt? He has a habit of struggling to close a tournament, 4 dropped shots in 3 holes and a bogey on 18 is my kind of golf, shouldn't be his.

Really pleaed for him. He has improved so much over the last year in particular. Looks like a really confident player now and will be a great addition to the Ryder Cup side.

I think its a fantastic achievement for the guy and he has had a great year.

But he does seem to have a problem with being in contention late on a Sunday. Until he overcomes this I just can not see him making the next step and lifting a marjor.

I am really pleased for Justin.
I have been keeping an eye on his improvement and have recently watched some video footage on his web-site. His swing is taking shape really well and I expect him to be in the running more and more these days.
His confidence should grow and he's certainly got an all-round game.

Delighted for Justin. His swing is excellent just now.
I would recommend his coach, Nick Bradley's book: The Seven Laws of the Golf Swing for anyone who hasn't seen it, it's excellent.

Dare I say this could be construed as another faintly damning indictement to Leadbetter (along with Michelle Wie)? Nick Bradley takes over coaching duties when Justin is No 120 something with Lead, and now he's No 7!!

I looked the book up, a must for my christmas list!

Don't be too hard on DL, some of us have a lot to thank him for, just probably not the top tour guys!!

Yes, despite my views on how the OoM is awarded it was good to see Justin Rose win it. Very consistent in all the majors and good showings in the events he did play on the Euro Tour.

I look forward to seeing him make a larger impact on the PGA Tour.

I love watching Justin Rose but FFS don't ever let me hear him being interviewed. Talk about changing your accent before changing your watch, this guy sounds like he is from the hood.

I agree with that, but aren't all interviews with the top golfers boring. What can they say? I putted well/badly, the conditions were good/bad/awful, the greens were fast/slow/tricky, the pin placements were tight/generous, etc. I think the TV people should confine their inteviewing to the winner only, or to someone who has done something remarkable during the round. These interviews are just a waste of time, especially when there is golf being played at the time.

Agree with the Leadbetter comment -his stock is plumetting!
Nick Bradley's book...hmmmm...lost me a bit to be honest, strange pictures and funny diagrams, weird way of using analogies to describe things.
I preferred the more simple reference books for what to do by Nicklaus, Hogan, Jacobs etc.

Hogan's fundamentals is like the Bible of golf, but you can't beat Jack Nicklaus's Total Golf Techniques. It's in strip cartoon form. First published in UK in 1979 but as relevant as ever. Mine's the 1981 edition.
