SLDR is a very low spinning driver, so it's important you use more loft to get the right launch. Your driver is higher spinning so you don't necessarily need the extra loft.

Ping are renowned for understating the loft - as high loft used to have an ego problem! If the angle was measured with a 'standard' device, I'm almost certain that the true loft would be nearer 11! Mind you, this applies to most manufacturers!

The PL Red is a low launch/spin shaft, so it might actually be a good combo! And if you like it, then that's all that matters!

Launch of around 17* and Spin around 1700 is pretty much optimum (TM's 17/1700 marketing) so if you don't naturally hit up on the ball, then higher loft will help - but at the cost of 'too much' spin!
