As it happens, I'm as Scottish as anyone else on here, just happen to now live in England. But I've never felt the need or desire to start posting in a regional dialect.

To be brutally honest, Potteries (Stoke-on-Trent area) dialect is, to 90% of the people I speak to is jibberish

Here's and example from a cartoon that runs in the local paper

JEardley nowst wha am ta'kin boot :thup:

As I worked in Cannock for two years I read the cartoon with the locals speaking it in my ear. Easy.

When I first moved to Bristol I started to go to watch Bristol RFU club at the Memorial Ground - it took me a while to work out who the Aussie (going by the name of Bruce) playing for Bristol was - d-oh!
