a touch over £100pcm for dual fuel, 3 bed semi built about 60 years ago
Currently using First Utility... Would highly reccommend them... You only pay for what you use [as long as you remember to send them your meter readings!] NO optimistic estimates a la British Gas...
Having said that when my current deal runs out I'll do what I always do... Feed my details into a couple of the price comparison sites and see what they come up with... Usually get the same results and move to the top choice!
Just remember, all the providers are having to pay for their 'green' credentials somehow... and that somehow is us the consumer
So bills are going up, not because of what we've used, but because we are paying to help the providers provide us with 'greener' electricity![]()
And, of course they have to be seen to be providing a good profit to their shareholders... Which could be anyone with a pension fund... Fund managers like to invest in business's that can provide a 'safe' payout making utility companies a perfect choice...
And the rich get richer and the poor get stuffed. Market forces capitalism in the public utilities stinks!
Mine is a new build 3 bed, so not entirely useful to you but with heating, lights, tv, on pretty much all day as someone is typically home with the kids etc. I would say we are a high user, gas and leccy is £108 a month with Scottish power. Been with them for 6 years, keep comparing and no one can beat them. On a fixed tarif until 2016.
And I'm with Scottish Power - 3 bed 1918 semi with TVs, laptops and PCs etc - so how come mine has just jumped from £157 a month (bad enough) to £242.86 - I have asked for a review. Ludicrous - something is not right and I haven't a clue what.

Makes my £207 per month with Scottish Power seem cheap.Perhaps they charge more for the Farnham area ?:mmm:
Just out of interest have either of you used a price comparison site to see if there are better deals to had... Sure there must be...
