I was made redundent when I was 55. Never had a day off work before that since leaving school. As I had been there 30 years the pay out was not to bad. Good job really as I have never worked again. Found it hard at first not getting up to go to work. Retired this year so thats it now.

Just gone through the same, that's the second time in under 2 years. Not worked in 2 months, but 6 weeks of that was consultation and gardening leave, start my new job with better prospects and more money next Monday! Take the positives is my advice and keep yr chin up!

there are a few firms taking on for contracts in Manchester stu,one based in LEIGH ( l.m.s) and have you tried BOOTHS MECHANICAL SERVICES they were taking on not long back.
