Having read many posts on members buying new clubs, be it a driver, wedge or set of irons and after using them for either a few rounds, months or indeed a season decide that they are no use and throw them in the garage with the rest of the cast offs.

It's easy when we go to the golf shop pick up a new club, have a few hits in to the net in the shop and decide its a decent club (maybe get custom fited) and make the purchase. But as we all know its a completely different story on the course when we cant choose our lie and there is a little bit more preassure on.

I've seen on another forum (fly fishing) where they have a line pool. A good fly line can cost the best part of £100 so to save members making the wrong decision in the shop they can try a few lines from the pool before deciding what they want and what suits there cast style best.

My point being, could this work on this forum where we have some sort of club pool so you can actually go out and have a few rounds with a club or a few clubs from a set to see how you get on before buying. These could either be donated by members or sponsers. Maybe pay some sort of deposit and get it back when you return the club. Alot of it has to be done by trust aswell.

Just an idea to see what you guys think. Could save some people alot of money.
