It is no bad thing, as you get a solid platform to work from. I was coached (years ago) to have a 'square' back foot, and turn out the front one.

I'm a bit like Murph but was actually taught with bot feet square. Not particularly good when you get older or with a mor emodern turn and I thoroughly recommend trying to open the left goot (ideally both) to allow a better turn and room to swing on the way down

This is something I have recently been told to do by my Pro. Has certainly helped to finish shots more in balance and avoids the left foot twisting through impact.
