Hi Guys,

A few of our members have gone through the "Clubgolf" coaching programme and we currently run junior coaching sessions on a Monday night and either a Saturday or Sunday morning depending on competitions.

What sort of junior programmes do you have at your clubs and do you have any tips on ways to make the sessions more interesting, any games we can play etc?

Cheers

The club pro at my local course teaches kids on sunday mornings. My daughter really enjoys it. He normally does 1/2 hour working on there swings then 1/2 hour putting or chipping or something like that and has a mini comp/ game at the end of the session.

I would suggest trying to do a video lesson with them at some point. The kids loved watching themselves on tv and the pro said he found it a bit easier to point out faults on there swings that way aswell.

most junior coaching is done by the assistants (both PGA pro's in their own right). throughout the season after-school sessions, private coaching and summer holiday programmes.
frequently (too frequently! they block out the putting/pitching greens) saturday morning sessions plus we also get county juniors over for sessions with our GM Top 25 (and national coach), which are also on Saturdays.

Thanks for the replies. We have all gone through the proper CRB checks so I will suggest loking into getting some video coaching done. We get a visit from one of the pros at Inverness Golf Club once a year and he has spoken about the possibility of linking up with him to video coaching.
