The June edition of Golf Monthly was in our clubhouse today, 13th of April, which seems a bit premature! The May edition I could probably accept! :mmm:

Does it matter which month it says on the cover? It's only something to identify each edition.

And they couldn't even be bothered putting the result of the Masters in, which finished the day before the mag arrived!!! 😤 Not good enough GM. Shabby in the extreme. I'll be taking my hard earned elsewhere..................;)

have covered this one many times but its an industry standard all magazines adhere to and as D4S says its a bit academic - we produce 13 issues a year, one every 4 weeks. more relevant is the on sale 'from-to' dates on the spine (and next to the bar code on newstrade copies)

On the cover and spine it says June Issue (14 April - 11 May). So surely that's the May edition! I should say that Golf Monthly is not the only mag that does this. Is it done to prolong the sell by date or something?

Will we add this to the ever expanding list of gripes???

Mine arrived just after sunrise, through the 4.25" letterbox. If it had arrived a few weeks earlier it would have been GMT, and too dark to read out on the terrace!

It should really be called the April/May edition in my opinion. Certainly not the June issue!

Put the bone down Fido. It's becoming tiresome.....

Del..it's time you worked out when to leave something...
Mike's given you the answer - what more do you want?
Or are you on a crusade to change something......😕

I'm with delc on this one. Might be industry standard, still doesn't make sense, and I wish some publishers had the courage to do away with this nonsense. If you say it does not matter, there are 13 magazines, one every four weeks, then why not just number them and not give them a month-name at all. Name the things appropriately or don't name them at all. It is similar to calling something a 7 iron that has only 28° of loft.

It's a bit misleading to the general public. You might buy the June issue sometime in mid June, thinking it's the latest edition, but they may have bought out two more editions by then!

Does it really make an iota of difference to what's between the covers? They could call it what they liked on the spine and it wouldn't matter. I really fail to see what the gripe is here especially when the guy at the top took time out to explain it AGAIN
