Joining a society

Hi All.

Been playing golf few years now and wanted to find out how people went about joining a society,
Been interested in this for a while and wondered how people got involved in these.

Most societies I have belonged to have been work related. Some pubs have them and for all I know perhaps so do churches etc? Basically, anywhere where there is a group of blokes with time on their hands!

It is probably a case of asking around where you spend your time.
