Jacob Rees Mogg

I have always liked Moggy, as I believe most of his politics represent the man in the street, and he appreciates values of old. However, he must realise that whilst coming out of the EU is a good thing, especially for the future of our youth, we were never going to get the deal we would have liked, and no deal is too damaging

Whilst you may be correct I think that much of his politics is not very well disguised 'dog whistle' in nature.

Dont sit on the fence Tuggs, tell us how you really feel about him 🤭😀

I don’t really go for party politics to be honest.

Can’t stand most Tory’s, think labour are inept, liberals hearts are in the right place but are completely useless and crazy.

See guys like that though. Party political types. I hate them. Absolute game playing weasels l. Utter scumbags

What street's that, Mayfair and Park Lane?

He's a minimum tax minimum regulation free marketeer who sees the price of everything and the value of nothing.

Seems like a typical Tory boy and a complete hypocrite , goes on and on about respecting the EU vote then demands May resign after winning the confidence vote
Why do you describe him as a Boy, is it a cheap jibe to belittle someone rather than debate how you disagree with his views and why. You have attacked others on here for using such methods but see it OK to do it yourself. You then go on to describe him as a typical Tory Boy and suggest this means he is a complete hypococrite, Would that be different to a complete Labour/Lib Dem/SNP hypocrite? If his opinion is that May should resign then why is he not entitled to that opinion.

I suggest you take a look at your own posts before taking the moral high ground with others.

So out of all the posts having a pop at him you went for mine because I likened him to Tory boy - ignoring all the other insults towards him you thought mine was the one to point the finger at ?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tory_Boy

I’m not sure what Labour etc have to do with it all when the post is about one single person ?

And I called him a hypocrite because he demands that the EU vote is respected but then goes on to demand May resign after winning a vote - hence he can’t respect that vote - hypocrite

Are you still a little bit embarrassed that you resorted to cheap digs on the forum and got caught out - after everything you had a go at SILH for in regards cheap digs you showed yourself up to be as much a disrespectful hypocrite as him

And then you constantly bleat on about people responding to the post and not the poster yet here you are doing the same - you certainly make sure you put your stamp on any political thread and then it goes downhill after.

If he wasn't liked so much, he wouldn't get the votes.

Not my cup of tea, there's just something about him I don't like. However, he is as sharp as a tack. I've seen him on a number of occasions in Commons Select Committees, and the job he did on Olly Robbins when questioning him on when Olly Robbins started to put together May's Brexit Deal was superb - I'm surprised David Davis stayed so long.

There is a lot more to him than that irritating, plummy voice.

His suggestion that May should resign, even though she won the No Confidence vote, is a very valid comment. How can she get anything through Parliament when 117 Tory MP's don't want her there?

I think he does appeal to the at times to the peculiar British (or is it just English?) obsession with class. And some people feel comfortable with essentially a posh toff being in a position of power. Possibly makes people think of the good old days when we were ruled by a lot more of those types. And I suppose he does stick to his views and is consistent in his (IMHO rather outdated and at times repugnant) outlook and principles. That should not be seen as a plus really (man consistent in his views that abortion should not be allowed even in cases of rape or incest), but by the low standards we have at the moment, some will see it it as a plus.

Me personally I think he's a caricature and relic in modern society, with some very outdated views to say the least, on a number of subjects. Plus he as rich as Croesus, comes from a very privileged background which makes it extremely difficult for him to relate to the struggles of most people, and knows full well that any impact of a Brexit in whatever form will not make a slight bit of difference to his vast wealth or lifestyle. And he may even know that and economic impacts may well disproportionately impact on the poorer in society. And I'm guessing he doesn't really care. But I may be wrong, he may well be a compassionate person who has the interests of all, including the most vulnerable in society, at heart. And just hides it well.
