It's done.... he rides off into the sunset!

Haven't been for a few years... but Val Del Este over Desert Springs all day long!

Love the variety of holes at VdE , the conditioning isn't (or is that wasn't ) as good as Desert Springs, but when I used to go there regularly I used to but electricians insulating tape on the sole of hal my iron or the get damaged hitting off the waste areas... some friends of mine who lived there carried odd "old" clubs" for this reason.

Mind you, its a super area and prices have fallen like crazy in the last 10 years! Nearly bought there in 2008, on my last site visit, I took my self off round the area saw how many Se Vende signs were up and how much building was still in progress and thought... RUN! Should balance itself out now though...

And its still possible to buy a 3 bed villa, fully furnished and all fees paid for less than £70k:whoo:

Brilliant news Brian. Hope you have a very long retirement.

Now where is the mid point between Estepona and Almeria for a game ?

I have a spare sets of clubs in Spain that need dusting off.;)

Well done Bri, VDE have a society/club called media that play out off there. They do away days to other clubs etc

Might be worth a look. Although their are some bandits in there, I've had the pleasure of a sound sopping a few times!!

Congrats Brian. Hope it's a long happy retirement. Coincidentally, Valle de Este is a place I've looked at a few times for my retirement, but I'm 20 years away from that yet 😉

Oh happy problems, had two years of retirement and don't know how I had the time for work well done me man.

Good on you Brian!

Don't keep away from the forum once you're out there, we'll need stories of sunshine and warmth when we're heading out at the crack of dawn to a frozen course for a Winter League match.

Wishing you all the best for you and yours in this new era. I retired when I was 60 but after a year or so found I needed something else to keep me active. I worked for a few years with the National Trust and have worked in a Golf Club part time for five years now and really enjoy it. Anyhow, very best wishes for a happy retirement.

So pleased for you mate. Know how much you were looking forward to the day you could go over. Mind you, you spent loads of time looking around Spain for a gaff.

Enjoy the retirement, the sangria and the golf.
