I know many of you have had competitions over the winter but tomorrow sees my first competitive round of golf since early November. I'm raring to go!

It's the Mail on Sunday classic - we're playing at Broomieknowe, a course I haven't played before.

I've had a few lessons over the winter, changed my swing and played and practised a lot so we'll see how it goes under pressure!

Wish me luck!

:( SOOO jelous here! I dont known when I will ever play competative golf again!

Hopefully there will be another Hampshire forum meet soon.

Good luck in competitions, I love matchplay and I would encourage anyone to enter club matches, evening leagues, anything with matchplay in it as its SOOOO much fun!

Enjoyed my match today but it turned into a bit of a lesson for me; I was really outplayed by a 2 handicapper. My 8 strokes helped me keep it semi-respectable but after losing the first three holes I was never in it and lost 5 & 3.

It would have been closer if my short game and putting had been sharper but the best thing I can take out of it is that it's clear that I can greatly improve my ball striking. The girl I was playing had a much more penetrating ball flight which made a great difference in the windy conditions. It's good to see a better player - gives you an idea of what to aspire to.
