Played in our first proper length course today easing us into the season. Team event, first 6 holes 2 best scores count, next 6 holes, best three and back to best 2 for the final 6 holes.
Our fourball had 110 points and I shot a +3 gross starting and finishing with birdies.
Typical that it was a Non handicap qualifier (no real pressure either) with only two shanks today, going by recent performances, to me thats progress :)

Good stuff Brendy ;) a nice start to the season.

I had three shanks today and id love to know what causes them as im bamboozled :D :D :D

Very typical indeed happens to us all ;)

A shank is caused by many things but dont want to hi jack the thread, if you posted a new thread im sure you would get a lot of feedback and some tips.

Ah well, we managed to win the competition too which is a good start for our fourball, we won sod all last year (bar my individual matchplay and got my name onto the club boards in gold leaf :) )
Really got to get rid of these shanks for Castle stuart though, can't be nearly killing folks on parallel fairways now can I?

Have you thought about a quick lesson from your pro. If it helps, my posture was wrong and I was rocking onto my toes through the downswing. My pro got me using one of these http://www.americangolf.co.uk/golf-accessories/golf-practice-aids---gadgets/eyeline-balance-rod/ and changed my posture and cured them likkety spick
Yea he wants to get me on the camera as what ever I am doing wrongis happening so fast he cant see it, he suggested I was a little too shallow so I tried a steeper swing for the day and it did improve things but I still did it twice.
