Ours must be.
Played in a bottle trot today, shotgun start so 36 pairs out in 4BBB format.
The Snellster and myself shot 42 points and didn't even win a cheap bottle of plonk.
48 won it, followed by two 45's and two 44's 😂
Crazy, or is it?

Have you noticed that since the change to 90% handicap for 4BBB the scores have gone up quite a bit. 90% seems silly to me as a 6 handicap and a 15 are penalised the same.

Yes, 7 iron stopping in a few feet, even had a few wedges spin back of the front.

When I missed the green I just lobbed it to the pin and it stopped.

Score? +1 gross for 18 round the par 3 despite not playing for months and just 2-3 trips to the range in the last 3 weeks

Yes.

We're having work done over winter changing some holes and the course has been rerouted while the work takes place, it's now 803 yards shorter from the yellows and 880 yards shorter from the whites.

We're still seeing plenty of roll. Combine that with softish greens and good scoring is entirely likely as long as you stay out of the rough which is still pretty high in places.

Rough cut
Soft greens
Warm air
Lack of wind
Plenty of roll on hard fairways

Yep courses I have played recently are set up for better scoring and the Comp results reflect that

I agree, only thing that bothered me was there was lots of dew on the greens all morning, distance putting was high on impossible to judge as the ball was getting dragged by the water.

Sounds easier to win than at ours.

This was today's BB comp...

We're still playing full length just now, couple of wet fairways that are getting worked on just now greens still running at a reasonable pace so not playing easy yet, winter tees next week so silly scoring season starts soon.

The course I play:

Tee box: Okay condition
Fairways: Slightly firm of a morning
Rough: Extremely long and hard to play from
Sand: Dry
Fringe: Long
Greens: Just been spiked but soft too

Scoring level: Moderate

Must be because them free drops out of bunkers onto greens ;)
Or because they have cut all the trees out

The changes have made it a lot easier at the minute, been lots of high scores recently which is also down to people taking drops from rough/trees claiming it's where work has been carried out.
Don't see how they can do this.If it's not GUR,or covered by a local rule, you have to play it as it lies surely.
