....where you can go from feeling like a pathetic, worthless, good for nothing turd, to "The Daddy", in the space of a few minutes?!?!

I'm not one to get overly upset about playing crap, afterall, that is why I'm not on the telly-box (yet) I really did want to cry. Decided to man-up, apologised to my playing partner for a bout of Tourettes, and proceeded to the 8th. Hit a pap tee-shot into a fairway bunker but somehow salvaged a bogey.

Now our 9th can be a shocker. Very tight 208 yard par 3 with OOB all the way down the left which punishes anything slightly offline. Not much better on the right with some ball-eating rough and a couple of well positioned bunkers.

Got onto the tee, said to myself "tempo" and proceeded to absolutely cream a hybrid and upon reaching the green my ball was about a foot from the hole. Another near hole-in-one and it transformed my mood, and my score, as from there on in I played some great stuff.

Just goes to show that you never know what the next shot / hole / round has in store.

I do love this game. Mostly. :D

haha, I do that nearly every round, driver was nearly snapped on Sunday after a flying start followed by 2 blobs on 6 and 7... then nett eagle, nett birdie for a front 9 score of 21 points

I reckon golf must be the biggest cause of tourettes as I also suffer from it having never really had it before taking up this wonderful sport :D

i hear you loud and clear.

At the Millport forum meet last week i played like an absolute trollop for the first 6 holes, and was actually quite embarrassed about it as i'm a fairly decent golfer (sometimes).

Followed this with 3 3's in a row (all on par 4's)and suddenly felt like Tiger in his pomp. It's a funny ol game eh

Worst thing is the fact you can then go from "the daddy" back to the useless turd very quickly as well :D

But I understand what you are talking about.

Just goes to prove that there's no need to get all angry and frutrated. You'll give yourself a much better chance of playing good golf if you stay in control of yourself a bit more in the first place. You also wont have to look like a spoiled child spitting his dummy out and then have to apologise to everyone.

Nope

Talking about pathetic and worthless, reminds me of an incidend that happened to me many years ago playing football.

We are taking on the Premier champions, 3 divisions above us, and i think they were the County Champs or runners up the previous year. Any way we are giving them the round-a-round leading 3-1 when we are awarded a penalty. :) :)
Up-steps your's truely and slots the ball 6 inches wide of the left hand post,
Referee blows his whistle, re-take the kick goalkeeper moved. :D :D Yes I think, give me the ball.
Well it was like an action reply, I send the goalkeeper the wrong way but only for the ball to miss the left hand post by 6 inches :o :o.

The other team score two late goals to take the tie into extra time, and we finally lose 4-3. Dont think the word turd was used thinking back :D :D :D
