Is no win no fee / legal action good for the sport.

back to the OP,
I don't know of many courses that include insurance and I know it's not included in membership either.

as I've said for a while, hard hats and dayglow waistcoats next

This silly claiming is not new!

Twenty or so years ago we had a claim from a lady member who, on a short par three uphill over a pond, landed on the far bank of the pond and attempted to play her lofted club up to the green, thinned it, hit a large retaining stone on the grassy bank and sued the greenkeeper as he must have know she could have done herself an injury with the ball rebounding and hitting her!!

She won her case!!

The hole had to be realigned!

And this is your prime example or no win no fee ball sh*T

Good thing that I just saw on tonights news, Seb Coe, interviewed on the television, sitting in the Olympic stadium seating, and, just in case someone was to let loose a stray javelin, he was wearing a high viz vest, safety helmet, safety glasses and, most imprtantly, a pair of gloves - you couldn't make it up!

I'm wondering how long before mandatory insurance comes in so everyone has personal liability insurance. I have had cover for a few years now partially in case of theft but primarily because I can't guarantee to keep it in the same time zone let alone same district sometimes and if the worse happened I wanted to be protected.

There will always be chances in any walk of life who see an opportunity and go for it. For the most part golfers seem a pretty decent bunch and I think the majority would only claim if an injury made it financially necessary. Can't see that lasting mind but for now it seems pretty ok
