Is it contagious?

I saw something quite interesting at the range

There was this guy that came along in an empty bay and started hitting, he was shanking pretty mch everything. Within 10 minutes of him being there the 2 guys to his left and 3 to his right were having a mare. Topping the ball shanking it, some ugly stuff

It almost looked like it just spread, is that possible? Anyone seen anything like that before?

Before anyone asks I was about 4 bays on and I slowed my hitting right down and took some extra concentration to ensure it didnt contaminate me as well.

Never had that experience at the range but I know I play better on the course in company with better players so maybe an element of play is transmitted between players?

Was the chap making a fuss at the shermans (I.E P1$$ed off)??

Sounds to me like the other 2 chaps lost focus on what they were doing watching the other chap having a mare!

maybe everyone wanted to make him feel better - and started shanking as well :)

not seen it on the range, but have felt that other players games start to fall apart when I am having a mare.

I am sure I annoyed a few when I was struggling with laying off my hands when I tried to correct my too steep swing earlier this year. I had 2 range sessions that had 10-15 baduns in them.

I didnt get anyone else doing it but the guy in the bay next to me only seemed to be able to top the ball or thin it. I just assumed it was his normal game.

Funny you should say that, last weekend we were a 3 ball in a club comp, never played with either of the guys before. So one of the guys blobs the first 3 holes, I have a nightmare on the next 3 and then other guy trod in our poo and he had a mare for 3 holes

Went on like that for 18 holes, none of us wanted to tee off incase we trod in the others poo

Which range did this happen at? If I ever go there, think I might wear a condom to protect myself....can't be too careful you know!

The guy was getting pretty p1ssed off and even though he was only berating himself, I could hear it a few bays away, so whether it was the shanking or the 'having a go at himself' or a combination of the 2, it looked like it affected the guys around him

Ok, so lets just say, for a second that if someone is playing badly it will affect your play, does that mean you should only play with better players if you can? Is that also why low handicappers prefer to play with their kind? Just putting it out there, dont start freaking out all you scratch players

This happened at Silvermere

Have to say at the range I have been using for convenience (not my preferred site) the sound of ball meeting bay wall is like a woodpecker mating. There tends to be a lot of beginers and "idiots" and so there are frequent mishaps. The only time it really gets to me is in the middle of the swing and you heear that tell tale thud but I've never caught a dose of the rights from someone next to or nearby

I suffered big time a few months ago, I know what it feels like, but my PGA Pro showed me golfshanks.co.uk and these clubs say its impossible to shank, so far so good as I never had one again. :)

Hmmmm, I think I smell a little fish, well, something smells fishy. .
