Is common sense getting diluted through over zealous health & Safety?

The worst culprits are big companies who have had an incident and are fearful of being sued/reputation, I work for one of those and the h&s is mental, can't take a loo break without a risk assessment. Gets to the stage where the job becomes unsafe due to all the stupid steps put in by the h&s guys who know nothing about the job in hand.

They are also those companies who have reduced the worst industries death and serious life changing injury rates to approx a third to half of what they were 10 years ago, when everyone said there was nothing that could be done to the UK construction industry's safety record.

I'm not talking construction companies, I'm talking multinational's, yes there have been some really bad accidents and it was right to implement h&s but it's gone too far now, by the lack of doing anything for fear of h&s makes it a timebomb waiting to happen in some industries.

There are many H&S myths that are eagerly used by slackers and those who can't be @rsed to take common sense care.

The Conkers ban in schools thing was a joke video by a teacher and pupils.
I do not think that any school in the UK has ever banned conkers.

The hot soup pay out was caused by an idiot dinner lady who microwaved it to silly degrees. The young girl tripped and was severely injured and badly disfigured.
