Having used the MX-200's (with S300 Dyanlite Gold Shafts) for 4 weeks (prior to theft) I was getting on well with them and found them to be a step up from the MX-15's culminating in a 77 final round.
However (as posted before) I have a nagging doubt that I could be playing with better irons i.e. more workable, e.g. MP-52's or MP-57's. I actually played yesterday with someone elses clubs (Ping i10's) and shot a 79 getting and eagle on our uphill 510yrd Par 5 (Hitting the 5-iron 205yrds uphill, but wind assisted!).
I have tested the MP-57's about 2mths ago albeit into a net at AG and got some good results, hitting a 6iron on ave. 180yrds and in the centre of the fairway, so I think that I can hit them. I want to be able to shape my shots (Low, Left or Right) and the MP-52/7's would be better than the MX-200's for that.
I remember though that the Mizuno fitter said not to go for the 57's as they are old technology and will stop making them soon. Are the 52's as good?
Another question, would the S300 shaft that I was fitted for in the MX-200 be just as good in the MP-52's?
