Well it's been released, now to be honest am not that bothered as I have now gone onto the dark side. Aka Android. However it seems all is not well in the apple camp. There new triple lens camera has three small lenses together. People with a " fear of small holes"
( trypophobia) are now getting all itchy and nervous looking at it . The BBC To show how serious this is have show a picture of a crumpet. 🤣🤣

The phone seems typical apple , samsung release one in march.. right better it by a slight spec in the processor speed or a min of battery life and stick our logo on it

The fact they haven't got 5g out shows their behind the curve

I've never had an iphone. Always Android ones. When I look at one it just looks wrong, the way everything is set out and so on. It would take me far too long to adjust. You just have so much more choice with Android anyway - basically every other single brand of phone.

I'm sorry I just don't see the need. I used to have Iphones but now in my view its overpriced hype like most Apple stuff for no real increase in performance or functionality.

To be honest, I don't see the point of any of the mega-expensive phones now. I think the innovations are plateauing off and I'm not sure what a top end Samsung would give me over my standard Moto G7. Yes they have better cameras but the one on my phone works enough for what I use. If I was serious about photography I'd spend the difference in price on a good camera.

Will be pre-ordering the 11 Pro on Friday, and already have the watch pre-ordered too.

I get people’s hate, and believing Apple are ‘behind the curve’ but if you look historically, they wait until they feel like they have it perfected it before releasing it.

Remember Samsung’s hash at trying to use facial recognition on phones that proved to be useless? Compare that with FaceID now and you’ll see what I mean. Samsung failed first time round, Apple got it spot on from release day.

There will always be a split of opinions; and you can see where my opinions sit....but there will always be a clash of Android Love and Apple Love

Just stupid money now

Especially with the networks, I got a samsung 40 a month for 60gb data and unlimited everything else cost me 10 up top

iPhone cant get for under 100 down if you want same sort of cost pcm

Plus the no headphone Jack (apparently needed for water proof yet the Samsung's have it and are waterproof) same with dual sim another thing they wont do

Since the wife’s 6 went down a toilet we are looking to buy, probably last years model at its now discounted price.

My 7 will prob last until the 11 refresh if they do one or next sept.

Battery health is something like “service urgent” but that just means “buy a battery pack”.

My 7 will prob last until the 11 refresh if they do one or next sept.

My 8 was less than 18 months when I got rid last week

Its battery health had gone down to 87%
I thought that was very poor for the usage

But then had been 88% since 12 months which was why it worried me

My wife's 7 is still on 96% same age

You mean like the e-sim functionality that was on last year’s phones?!

In the age of wireless headphones, I don’t get the outcry for a headphone jack. Old technology and restricted movement. Wireless headphones are brilliant

Indeed they may be but its helpful to have the option......

The e sim isn't as widely supported as just getting a sim card

What are you actually talking about? What option is there? Headphone jack ? Nope have to have an attachment that stops you being able to charge and listen to music

E sim? Not a well supported feature by the networks

Other phones include both options with the same water proof nature and same battery life which apple claim isn't possible

For crying out loud they still wont let you have a memory card option so charge you what £100 per memory upgrade rather than £16 for a card

A lot of money for a phone that isn't even class leading more

Huewui is the top phone these days even beating Samsung's offerings

I don't hate Apple. I think they have really helped to drive innovation along and made others work hard to innovate themselves.
For me I prefer the interface of Android and the fact that you can personalize it more and not so tied into Apple and iTunes.
Apple has been marketed superbly, knows it's audience and caters well to it. Price is an important part of that in that is sold as a premium product at a premium price.
I have a work iPhone and a personal Android. I much prefer the latter.
It's all a matter of choice.

I just made the switch after years with iPhone

I haven't even noticed anything to make me want to switch back

Its the same for less cash

I don’t get why some people upgrade every year. I got the newest 10 last year, but came from a 6. So my phone is likely to last me until the 14 or 15 comes out.
My GF just bought a new Samsung 10something, but her old phone is 5 years old now.

If you wait a couple of years phones step forward, but year on year it isn’t worth upgrading, especially for silly money.


Btw, the last innovation in phones, in my opinion, was the original iPhone. Everything since is just improvement. No mater what Steve Jobs or Tim ‘Apple’ call it. More smileys doesn’t make it a new generation of smartphones.
I might not entirely fit their model ;-)

Problem with apple is they even admitted to slowing down their older phones as they couldn't keep up after a certain time so it made people want to swap to keep the performance

Think it was clever to tell people they did it to get in their heads they need to upgrade
