Interesting read on putter selection

This definately is interesting as I'm currently searching for a new putter so read the article, now comes the confusing bit, after doing a little more research online it appears that all the evidence I've read indicates that a right hand right eye dominant player requires more offset which is the opposite to what the article is saying unless I'm reading it wrongly, can someone clear this up please...Im confused !

Lump and I were at the range a while back and we were both looking at putters and we both swent for centre shafted putters with no offset. We are both rigth handers and I assume right eye dominant. I agree wit the findings of the article. Interesting read as you say.

Although being left handed I play golf right handed and have just checked and I am right eye dominant. What I dont understand is what offset is.

Interesting. I've been looking at putters the last few weeks and the one that looked and felt the best to me was the Scotty Newport 2.6 shown in the article. I said in my post yesterday that I didn't know why but I am right eye dominant and right handed - I guess there's my reason. I have however seen that the Rife Trinidad is the same design and less than half the price of the Scotty so need to find somewhere to try that

Louise offset means when the shaft of the putter isnt straight into the head but 'offset' usually by the width of the shaft or 3/4 or half that and ahead of the head, the reasoning is so your hands are slightly ahead at impact

I read that but their explanation concurs with the first one except they state it the other way around, unless I'm reading it with my non dominant eye:whistle:

As if golf isn't confusing enough

The one theory that does seem to be agreed about is that if you tend to miss most puts on the left of the hole get an offset putter, and vice versa if you miss on the right, I presently use and offs set and miss the majority on the right so I'm going to gve an inline a crack !
