Great post by MikeH regarding the GIBBO thread. I think by saying what has happened just removes all the gossip mongering and lets people know what has happened. It would be great if this happened everytime someone got a ban, so that people know what happened and it will be a good deterent to others about what is acceptable. Just put up a brief outline of what happened then lock the post so there is no further argueing over it would be a great idea.

That is easy, just shut that thread down as there would be nothing to discuss as we already know exactly what happened as we got it from the horses mouth.

I can see the value of that idea if it's an incident (or related series in close succession) that results pretty much in an instant ban; no need I feel if it is a ban through a number minor infractions over a longer period of time.
