Trilby Tour Golf
Berkshire & South Central Championship The Berkshire & South Central Championship. Action from the amateur event at Bearwood Lakes. This was the fifth tournament scheduled for the 2010 Trilby Tour
Sky Sports 4 7:00pm-7:30pm (30 minutes) Mon 13 Sep

Saw this and thought would let people know, as a few of the people on the forum had entered it .
Are we going to see some fantastic shots from forum members ?

Cheers Midnight...

What I want to know is, where do they get the hats from? I'd love to have a Goldfinger Bond style hat but I can't find them anywhere, especially not in my size*.

*Mekon.

I won't be on it.

I only saw 3 cameras all the way round.

On the first tee, I'm guessing they'll only show players of interest with their final score which won't include me. Hit a good one though.

By the 13th(?) green. I hit a wedge just on the front edge (about 10 yards short of where it wanted to be) and spun back off the front, then 3-putted.

18th green. Hit a horrible thin hybrid from about 200 after a duffed 3 wood off the tee, which went about 20 yards back left of the green.
Got up and down from there but the cameraman must've been on a tea break.

Smiffy won't be on it, he looked like Benny Hill in his trilby, hardly the image they want to portray!

...and (nothing new here) he played like a knob.

Smiffy played like a knob.

Ouch, mind you Ive seen you ride bikes rob :D

Have you kept the trilby so you can wear it down the local pub and talk to your "friends" about how you were on TV playing golf?

I wont be on it. Would've been if I had managed more than 1 point on the last 3 holes. :( Would have easily qualified but bottled it.
3 birdies and didn't even qualify....that's nob play that is!! :o
Smiffy did look funny though....a bit like Albert from Steptoe & Son :o :D

Already entered for next year....

Keep an eye out for the fit bird caddying. She carried the bag for about 4 holes and then he ended up carrying it!! :o :D :D

Aldwickbury was the first course I play when I started 41/2 years ago.
Was a Crabtree dads cricket club golf day.
I went to the school next door! In fact used to play on the farm that the course is built on.

Let me know if you're ever in the area and want to play there again.

You won't recognise the greens from the last time you played there.

For our club championships last month, the green staff ironed the greens and they were measured at 12 on the stimpmeter. This is the fastest they have ever been. On the same day, Augusta was stimping at 11... :o

Can’t really remember the greens to be honest, only that it was the first game I had ever played, borrowed clubs and woods (and I do mean woods). Remember losing the ball on the first tee shot and the prov, both sliced into the trees. I had got the bug even thought I couldn’t hit the ball for toffee. Joined Redbourn on an end of season/ winter deal in Dec 2005 and was a member there till the end of April 2006, when we moved to Inverness.

Didn’t play many courses down there as it was winter, but did manage Harpenden common, Batchwood, Stockwood Park and Harpenden (Hammonds End).

Have been meaning to go back and play Redbourn, as I was off 24 when I left and off 9 now. Used to go back and play cricket the first few years we were here, but don’t bother now. Just play golf.

The courses up here are out of this world and are very cheap to join. If you are ever up here give me a shout.

I played with Smiffy at Boat of Garten after the Castle Stewart meet and took the money!! In the review it said won with prior course knowledge, but ( only ever played it twice b4) more to do with having the ability to hit the ball straight off the tee and not a massive slice.
