Imperial spanners and sockets

I sold most of my Dad's old stuff at an Autojumble a decade or so back... Some of the larger commercial sized stuff sold for good money as did the oversized wooden handled screwdrivers but the smaller stuff went for pences... It was mostly Britool and King Dick complete with a WD arrow stamp...

If you just want them re-homing then put them on Freecycle or it's equivalent. We have put a few things on there and they have all gone within hours.

I still keep mine it's been amazing over the years when one has been the right size however I have a big enough shed for them to just sit in one of the draws and some the sizes I have would cost quite a bit to have in metric.

Whitworth still has it's place somewhere:LOL:

Ba, Bsf, Bsc, Bsp Unf, Unc, takes me back to my Wafu days ?

I cleared out a load of tools, jars of screws, bolts, hinges and fixings plus quite a bit of wood dye, wax and polish last year.
I offered it to a mindcare unit that works out of the Hospital doing up old furniture.
I spoke to the guy first and he was lukewarm but when he saw what I was offering he was delighted.

On old tools. My dad was an 'old-school' cabinetmaker and I have all his tools. And I doubt I'll ever get rid of them as they were very important to him - and I still use some of them.

In fact only yesterday I need to drill a hole in a gate post, and the best tool that I had for the job given where the post was, was my dad's brace as he had a set of large diameter bits one of which was perfect. Bit and brace did just the job - the hole was drilled in no time at all.
