I was a governor for 7 years or so and I would have had more than a bit to say about this.
You will never get a 100% take up in a state school so the school either provides or they exclude children from classes - illegal I think.
The extra cost may be aimed at doing that, covering insurance costs, which will be high as I think the school would be liable on the premises, and funding the additional costs of the courses - whatever, it will cost more especially locking into a single supplier.

I'll admit to being archaic, I still think they should be able to spell correctly and use grammar.

I assume they gave you more information on how they plan to use them, how they intend to quantify the benefits of their use in the classroom, the advantages etc rather than just "£21 a month to embrace technology"?

That would influence my reaction I think so would need to know more.
