If money/work was no concern...

Not interested in fancy clubs or coaching. I wouldnt like to play any more as i'm trying to take a big step back from it all anyway. I havnt been to the practise range for months now which is a totally alien concept to me. Not the sllightest bit interested in getting any sort of h/c cut for the foreseeable future and would gladly take an increase but I dont play hardly any comps anymore so thats unlikely.

I'd happily arrange to play all the top courses with a few choice mates though and probs try to get into all the pro-ams before the tour events.

I'd buy a property on the Wentworth Estate overlooking the course. There are a few for sale at the mo.

Then become a member there and get,"on course lessons",with a top pro.

Nice!! :D :D :D :D

Golf-RICH-mad. :D

I wouldn't go mad to get down to scratch or anything but I would like to play to decent standard and play at some tour venues without making a complete arse of myself and actually challenging the course. I would still want enjoyment from the game and it not become a chore or some sort of quest to get down to scratch.

...how would you improve your golf?

A residential golf school?
Proper fitting?
More play?

None of those. Get me off work and book me in a for a lesson a day for ages.

I'm seriously considering a residential school, but I'm not sure I trust anyone. I'm heavily into the RotarySwing website (tons of useful videos), and so was considering going to Florida for a week.

I often wonder if top coaches are at the top because they are better than other coaches or because they are well connected or 'got lucky' in having a talented youngster work with them.

It's a question that applies to many sorts of "practical" tuition/coaching. Mostly, talent will out.

Yes, premium on RotarySwing. I've found it to be the most instructive of all the golf information I've seen to date and would definitely recommend.

The guy behind it has a great swing. Looks like the perfect expression of the one-plane swing.
Me likeee. :)

To be honest, work is now of no concern, and if I had all the money I wanted I don't think that it would make any difference to my golf (give or take a shot or two).

I've got all I want from the game. A reasonably competitive h/cap for my age, a great group of like minded but not necessarily similar aged people with whom I play, the facility to play against up to 16/20 different clubs home and away with a 2 course meal for £13.50 a time, (not to mention Forum meets, society days, long weekends away etc) great company, good/great courses, good food, wonderful banter.

All stuff that really all the money in the world money can't necessarily buy.

Leftie, stop it. Just leave it, ok?

For me, just playing more courses, possibly employing a teetotal mate off 4 as a chauffeur would do it. Who knows? Just as likely to knock it on the head and go motor racing.

Just show me the money, and we'll find out.

So why are you such a miserable old fecker?
:D :D :D :D :D ;)
