Ideal number of holes?

Told mine I was going to buy a m/bike, then bought clubs and started golf instead.

That was a good call!!

I'm finding the best way is to take the little'uns golfing too.....gets me lots of brownie points and leaves some time for shopping.
They won't be coming on medal days though!!!

I convinced my wife to take up the game and I now occasionaly get to play 36 holes at the weekend, 18 with my wife as a bit of us time, and 18 with my mates on a Sunday.

I do prefer 18 holes but prefer a course that is set out with front and back 9 starting at the clubhouse so at least I have the coice of half a round when time is short of the wife ahs other plans for me.

I used to play at a course where the 9th, 12th and 18th greens were all by the clubhouse, giving people a choice of playing 9, 12 or 18 holes (several did take the 12-hole option). That seems a perfect solution.
