ICT or Barnsley

Its pointless as we're run by old farts and muppets who don't give a hoot about the common working man and continue to run Scottish Football in a way that benefits them and their agendas. Scottish football is a laughing stock anywhere other than Scotland.

A very common misconception.

Laughed at by it's own folk and by it's neighbouring country but it is actually well respected by much of Europe.

Problem with Barnsley is that you are always likely to get the chop (oops)

BTW @Fader - in what way is the SPL pointless? I certanly don't get your point on that one.
IMO it is a pointless league where only one team can win it! Whereas the rest merely make up the numbers in an inferior manner. How many players currently coming out of the SPL would walk into a starting spot at top division clubs around Europe, less than a handful I'd say. Whereas there are many championship players that would be sought after by clubs before they look at the SPL

Also in terms of Europe you can't tell me any club would feel concerned about playing any Scottish team in a competitive match. Cue someone mention Celtic! Yes they did well against barca but for how long did they defend in the game and have to rely on the keeper have the game of his life rather than there teams dominance!

I can appreciate in years gone past the SPL was a decent league with some top players like Laudrup, DeBoer, Gazza et al but those days are long passed, and team for team I'd say even your best would struggle in league 1 and the championship.

Also if its so wonderful why do they need to revamp it to get the TV money? There alone IMO is the answer to my point.

Edit: my other reason is whenever I've been unlucky enough to watch SPL games the level of play never seems to match that of championship games, or that of other top flite leagues such as the Eredivise of holland which is another relatively small league but at least they have a handful of teams that can win the league and do well in Europe, e.g Ajax, Twente, AZ etc

theres no doubting Scotlands abilty to train up managers world wide. (english leagues are the best example, plus the special one) but there is something serioudsly wrong when we cant qualify for comps since 1998 and our domestic leagues are having problems.
too many folk having a free ride at the top sfa spl etc, hopefully the rethink sorts things out but i doubt it. think f1 think uefa think lining your pockets!!!!

The rot all started with Moonbeams starting to throw his and not his money at players that they could not afford and other teams followed suit. Some of the foreign guff even the likes of Motherwell have paid fortunes in their terms to is frightening and these players were edging out Scots, who given the chances, would have been cheaper and certainly not as poor as many of the foreign keech.

That is in the past now but these new plans for me are not the answer. As much belly laughing as I have enjoyed recently the smaller teams need the currants to be back asap and the currants also need to be back in the top league asap for their own financial well being and the longer they flounder about outside the top league the harder it will be for them to even challenge for a title never mind make it past 1 round of European competition.

Anyway, good to see Butcher took the football route rather than the money route.

Hopefully Ryan Fraser will see the error of his ways. Richer doesn't necessarily mean better
