went to the range tonight as i was bored off my face.

25 balls and that was it for me, fingers numb, that one shank is still resonating up my arm, and i think my toes may thaw out by xmas.

i must be getting old

I wouldn't worry about it. As a practice freak I went to the range on Saturday (ok I had new irons to try too) but it was a slog even in a heated bay. Couldn't face a frozen course on Sunday but shock horror even I couldn't be bothered to go the range again and freeze. Whatever next?

Our range has been closed since Friday

went to john Reays in Coventry and there was a few hardcore up there, clubs in the boot , had a nosey around the pro shop and a quick beer in the restaurant, so not a wasted hour or 2

Who are you, and what have you done with Homer ? ;)

Tommo, came to the same conclusion last Thursday, had a day off, tried to be brave, waste of time, hand in the glove colder than the hand without as I couldn't stick it somewhere warm between shots.
I currently can't see us getting back on the course for a fortnight for anything like a "proper" round. :(

Was meant to have a lesson tonight but got a call this morning saying " range closed" mind you the snow here is knee deep, it only started at 2am this morning and it's still going . It's gonna be 15-20 inches by morning

Thought I might go as hitting the balls into the virgin snow might give me a more accurate read on the carry for each club, but put some logs on the fire and changed my mind (not necessarily in that order).

Our driving range decided that to save money on fuel collecting the balls, and seeing as its brass monkey weather, you just pay 50p and stand and swing at the shed uprights instead of balls, you get the same sensation too.

my local range is on the flood plain of the Severn and Teme in Worcester. Come the floods the bays stay above water and play continues until all the balls are waiting to be collected by sub. :D

At our range they have to collect the balls in the morning by hand!!!!!! The pro said they picked up 6000 this morning!!!! lol

Had a lesson booked this evening, went down early to warm up (yeah right!) the wind was blowing the snow storm straight into the bays, and no heaters up here Homer!

Hit about 20 balls before I couldn't feel me hands, grabbed a coffee, got hot ache - remember that?!?!? then hit the other 80, plus about 30 someone had quit on with no problem :)

Tell you something though......it really makes you focus with the 3 iron in hand! :D

At least the lesson was held with the doors closed and hitting into a net.

I admit to being a wuss, cannot see the course opening any time soon and far too cold for the range. I think that the clubs are in the cupboard until after Xmas. I can dedicate my weekends to sport on the telly with a nice warm cup of tea.

Probably only had a couple of inches, but this weekends comp has already been put off for a fortnight and I'm happy about it.

Even if the course is playable, I hate being cold and it's not forecast to get above 2 ish for about 10 days at least.

Wimp. I know.

Supposed to be playing Friday with Fragger and CVG but I'm really struggling to get enthusiastic about it. Solid ground, wind chill of -10 - what's the point?
If I want to freeze my nuts off I can just stand outside the back door for a while.
