I know we have some fisherman on the site....

What do you think this is, Smiffy's muti-coloured swap-shop ? (ask your parents if you're under 30)
Golf gear, not fishing gear or you'll be booted out on your bollies

I work with a guy how does a bit of coarse fishing so I can have a word but wouldn't be speaking to him untill the 2nd July.

I fish purely for trout, salmon and edible sea fish.

See that's what I love about the forum. It casts its net far and wide and covers all sports.

I'd better not carp on about it though. Smiffy mate if I haddock one it would have been yours free of charge or cheap as chips!

:o

Sorted. Thanks lads.
Got myself a cracking deal on a pair of Korum CS series 11' feeders.
They should do the business!
Was on the verge of getting the Mach2's Mungo, but these Korum rods look the business and I had a bad experience with a Shakespeare rod a few years ago which sadly put me off the brand mate.

Second thoughts....how large? What type of water?

I normally fish a couple of local club waters which hold decent Tench and Carp up to mid 20's but the majority are early teens.
I'm fishing a venue next month which holds mainly 20's and some in the 30's and my current rods (Avons) won't cope.
None of them are massive waters so I don't need something that is going to lob a coconut out there, but I wanted something with a bit more backbone.
These Korums should cope with light/medium method feeders/legering/freelining. As I say, I won't be lobbing massive PVA bags out....

good choice with the Korum rods smiffy, they are very good bits of kit. debating flogging my gear as never bloody use it now. With work, kids & golf I am lucky if I get out once or twice a year :(

Glad to hear you got some rods sorted mate.I know what you mean about losing faith in a brand, but in all honesty the Shakespeare Mach2 and Mach3 rods really are top bits of kit.
I have Mach 2 9ft wand, and its an absolutely awesome piece of kit.I use it for link legering on the rivers, can get away with hooklengths as light as 0.08 and you could see a gnat fart on the light fibreglass tip,but i know quite a few commercial lads who use them for bomb fishing in the winter and they say they can tackle carp into double figures !!!
