When I last played (before X'Mas) I was awful beyond belief. (I couldn't hit a thing)
So off I went to practice this morning & managed to sort out a few things.

After a couple of hours I went to the 1st Tee & hit an average drive to the left of the fairway, 151 yards to the centre of the green, so I hit a 6 iron, what a shot!!! straight in the hole for an eagle 2. (my first ever eagle)

After that, I only had time to play another 8 holes, I scored.

1. Eagle
2. Bogie
3. Par
4. Par
5. Birdie
6. Par
7. Double Bogie
8. Par
9. Par

I am absolutely pumped with the way I played today.

2 under par through 6 holes... I bet you're knees were knocking. Nice scoring. Good to see you made 2 pars after the double and didn't just melt.

Might fine shooting and well done for holding it together. Take the knowledge that you can do it and go out in the next comp nice and positive. I was 3 inches away from a slam dunk hole in one today so I'm nearly able to match your holing out prowess.

Yay!!! Great job!! That's really good shooting.

I had my 1st eagle a few weeks back and it seems to be the start of something, enjoy the boost!!

level par for 9 holes on a 22 h/cap, I'd hate to meet you in a comp

well done matey, theres hope now isnt there, do it once you can do it again

Great shooting!! One word of warning don't go out next time with expectations too high!! Not putting a downer but I had an amazing round a while ago beat my mate who plays off 11. Next round went out thinking I could take on the world!! I didn't !!

Thanks all for the kind words & encouragement.
After my woeful round before Christmas I was in despair, after taking up the game in July last year & doing it all by the book (i.e pro lessons / buying quality clubs / hrs & hrs of practice) I just could not believe it was possible to play that badly.

Yesterdays game has given me the boost I needed & restored my confidence, I can now put that horrendous round down as just "one of those days" & move on.

Maybe Father Christmas brought me a new game?
Still on cloud nine today.
