Off on holiday for two weeks this weekend and then first comp 3 weeks today.

Nice to see someone happy to get one then work on getting it down rather than the "I'm not going to bother getting a h/cap until I'm off single figures" approach.

I wouldn't worry. It isn't where you start but where you end up. You are still learning your new course and so it'll take a bit of time. Play regular comps and I reckon you'll be close to 30 by June
