This morning I went around 9 holes without losing a single ball and I even managed to keep on the fairways most of the time. I was quite pleased with that for a beginner.

Next target: learn how to hit balls out of the rough without topping them and only hitting them 10 yards. :D

Well done! Nothing better than not losing a ball!

When hitting out the rough, grip hard and down the shaft and swing right through!

Good Luck!

Well done on your own goal we all have different ones and it's quite pleasing when you achieve an aim. We've all been there! :)

When in the rough chose a club that gets you back on the fairway even if it's a wedge
No prizes for trying to hit a 3 wood from knee deep clag.

I don't think I'm ready for competitions just yet ... don't want to start running before I can walk. My local 9 hole is a tidy little course and seems good for a beginner to practice and improve so I'll stick with that for now. It's also got the advantage of having no water hazards to lose your balls in.

So, out of the rough ... short irons or wedge, choke down, and swing through. Nothing fancy but enough to get it back onto the fairway. Copy that! Cheers chaps.

Great feeling isn't it.
