i have to give my friend his 3 wood back soon and was wondering what difference a 16deg hybrid would be to a 15deg 3 wood. i only ask because i hit my 22deg hybrid realy well and struggle with the 3 wood (off the deck). so would the hybrid be a better choice. the only advantage (i'm guessing) would be the 3 wood is longer so can hit further???? anyone else dumped the 3 wood for a hybrid? any help or idea's would be great.

The shaft is longer on your 3wood than your hybrid and that will give you more distance.

i have just sold my 15.5* 3 wood as i was hardly using it and bought a 17* hybrid an all i can say is why didnt i buy 1 sooner not only am i hitting it alot straighter i dont feel like im loosing any yards really also feel more comfy using it than i did my 3 wood

I replaced my 15* 3 wood with a 15.5* hybrid. There is a small distance gap between them off the tee, Maybe 10 yards or so. But I find the hybrid much easier/consistent off the deck than the 3 wood.

I've just bought a Mizuno 17* hybrid, looking forward to trying it. Got my titleist strong 3 wood for sale now although that is brilliant off the tee.

Hybrid all day. Mine is 18 deg and I hit it well. If I was looking for a new wood I would prob get the Cleveland 15 deg Mashie hybrid. Looks cool and is probably the best of both worlds.
