When I bought my new wedges I had a decision to make one club at the top end of the bag had to go, I dropped the 3 iron and kept my 2 hybrid. Now my hybrid used to be my go to club but recently I have really struggled with it. My 3 iron on the other hand I've never been truly comfortable with off the ground but has served me fairly well off the tee.
Now our 1st is 203 yards off the yellows and 216 yards off the whites. The last five times I've played it I've not got anywhere near the green on four occassions (fats and tops) and missed right once. Conversely the five times before that when I've teed off with the 3 iron I've missed right twice and left twice and finished short once.
I had a great chance to hit GUR on our par 5 12th with it yesterday and fatted it. In fact I've really struggled to hit this club for a while now. The club is not broken it works perfectly fine in other people's hands. And if I can hit a long iron and fairway wood well surely I should be able to hit a hybrid. It might well just be a mental block but it's driving me bananas as it's supposed to be the most forgiving and easiest to hit club in may bag!
I just wondered if anyone else has this problem?
