Can anyone help me with theball position in the stance when playing these clubs please?thanks in anticipation

For me it depends what shot I want to hit. If I want a lower flight, I'll have mine (a 17 degree hybrid) in the middle of my stance. If I want a higher, floatier flight, I'll have it a bit further forward.

As a general rule, I'd say have the ball just left of centre (i.e. slightly closer to your front foot) but not as far forward as you would a driver/3 wood.

I probably do it wrong though. There's obviously a reason I don't play off single figures! :D

i was told play them like a 5i/6i, still striking down on them for best results.

to get the high floaty flight, hit down like a 6i, to get a lower flight, sweep it like a 3i.

Dont know if this helps much. But read an artical on just this a couple of weeks ago. To cut along storry short. It said Hit it more like an iron from the rough somewhere around the middle or a bit forward so you hit down on it . But from a good lie sweep it more like a fairway wood about 2" or so inside your front heel. It does seem to work though. You will have to experiment abit to find the best ball position for you, but its a good starting point.

murph thanks but where do you play your 3i and what loft hybrid is it please

Hi, the loft is 21 degrees, and I play it from the same place I play all my irons. I put the club behind the ball, line the grip up with my belt buckle, so my feet are central, and then move my left foot left, and my right foot right in the ratio of 1/3 left to 2/3 right. The only thing I change is the width of my stance, according to how long the club is.

For my driver, I do the same, but do not move the left foot at all, just the right foot.

This pretty much what I do.

I love my MP CLK. Tried loads of hybrids before and hated them because most of them are offset so I was hooking everything wildly and they just floated up into the air and went nowhere.

The Mizuno is completely different. Probably the shaft I think but I really like it. Just got the matching 3w, which I'll probably hit like a fud :)

I have the 5 wood and looking into this for exactly the same reason. Square face at address and minimal offset.

Good shaft too!!

That sounds a really good way of setting up the ball position ... thanks for the tip :)

Highly recommend the hybrid Gareth, sure you'll get on fine with it. Goes like a rocket, great club.

I've even been tempted by the driver because of the shaft, doesn't help that all of that MP range is so cheap, relatively speaking

Yea, the new MP range comes out in couple of weeks which is why you can pick up the older stuff so cheap. Was sorely tempted when I got my JPX's but the JPX's were a better bet.

I know the new range is coming out but the MP range is super cheap. i.e. a brand new driver is cheaper than a Ping G2 off the bay.....

Different strokes for different folks I suppose but, with the Fubuki shaft, they are all an absolute steal.

I need to be careful or I'll end up becoming a "fanboy" like you Aztecs :)

I think you guys have been reading my emails :mmm:

I turn 30 end of February and plan on getting the hybrid and MP-630 (Getting the hybris Monday (pay-day) as the loft I'm after is getting scarce).

The only thing I can't decide is whether to get the MP-630 or Fast track version. Leaning towards the standard 630 as the Fast track come with, from memory, the UST Axivcore Tour Black shaft, with which I have no experiance.

Apologies for running the thread off track
