Huntercombe Golf Club

Assuming I am not getting it mixed up with somewhere else of a similar name... My brother lives in the same road this is located [just off J2 of the M40]... He joined soon after it first opened but left after a couple years as he felt there was better on offer elsewhere...

Played there a couple of times with him and course was well kept and worth a go if you are looking for somewhere less popular than some of the more 'headline' courses nearby...

God, you and your brother are some age - the course opened in 1901. Played there a couple of times in the early 70s when I was stationed at a nearby RAF base. We used to play a match against the BBC once a year - remember it as a vey nice track, just North of Henley.

My bad... Getting it mixed up totally :o:o...

I've played it a few times and enjoyed it. Rather charming old fashioned course, interesting layout and a nice setting. I think they only allow 2 ball games.

Played it twice and enjoyed it immensely both times.

We managed to get on as 3-balls - but had to ask.

Not a great fan of Par 3 starts, but this one is quite acceptable.

Wonderful scenery and some very good holes. Club-house has 'Members Area', which always grates a bit, but pretty relaxed.

Interesting, thanks chaps.

Will put it on my 'to play' list, unfortunately Henley doesn't seem to have that many great courses nearby, unless anyone can suggest some more?
